Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 500g boneless chicken thighs or chicken breast
- 1 tablespoon oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
Other Ingredients
- 1 cup pineapple chunks
- 1 small bell pepper, sliced
- 1 small onion, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
- Green onions, chopped
Step-by-Step Recipe
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Wash and pat dry the chicken. Cut it into bite-sized cubes. Sprinkle a little salt and black pepper over the chicken pieces.
Step 2: Make the Teriyaki Sauce
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, garlic, and ginger. In another tiny bowl, mix water and cornstarch until smooth, then add it to the sauce mixture.
Step 3: Cook the Chicken
Heat oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 6โ8 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked from inside.
Step 4: Add Vegetables
Add sliced onion and bell pepper to the pan. Stir and cook for 3โ4 minutes until slightly soft but still crunchy.
Step 5: Add Pineapple
Put the pineapple chunks into the pan and cook for 2 minutes. The pineapple will become juicy and slightly caramelized.
Step 6: Pour the Sauce
Pour the prepared teriyaki sauce over the chicken mixture. Stir everything well and let it simmer for 3โ5 minutes until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Turn off the heat. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions on top.
Serve hot with steamed rice, noodles, or cauliflower rice for a low-carb option.
