Ingredients
For the Creamy Layer:
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream, chilled
- 1 can (14 oz / 397 g) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
For the Crumb Layer:
- 2 cups crushed graham crackers or digestive biscuits
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
Optional Topping:
- Fresh strawberries or blueberries
- Chocolate shavings
- Crushed biscuits
- Caramel or chocolate sauce
Step 1: Prepare the Crumb Base
- Crush the graham crackers or digestive biscuits into fine crumbs.
- Add the melted butter and mix until the crumbs are evenly coated.
- Set aside about Β½ cup of the crumbs for topping.
Step 2: Make the Creamy Filling
- Place the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl.
- Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Add the sweetened condensed milk gradually and mix until well combined.
- Add the vanilla extract and mix again.
Step 3: Whip the Cream
- In a separate chilled bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
- Be careful not to overbeat it.
- Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.
- Fold until smooth and fluffy, without knocking out too much air.
Step 4: Assemble the Dessert
- Add a layer of the biscuit crumbs to the bottom of a serving dish or individual dessert cups.
- Spoon a generous layer of the creamy filling over the crumbs.
- Repeat with another layer of crumbs and cream.
- Smooth the top with a spatula.
Step 5: Add the Topping
Sprinkle the reserved biscuit crumbs over the top. Add fresh berries, chocolate shavings, or a drizzle of caramel or chocolate sauce if desired.
Step 6: Chill
Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. This allows the layers to firm up and the flavors to blend beautifully.
Step 7: Serve
Remove from the refrigerator just before serving. Spoon into bowls or serve directly from the dish.
